Braelen Hunt is a fabulous dietitian who prioritizes the whole person in nutrition counseling. She goes beyond the food to address the social determinants of health (e.g., financial stability, trauma), leading to a more holistic and validating experience for clients. I'll be continuing to refer therapy clients to Braelen with full confidence in the care they'll receive.
I was very nervous going into my work with Side By Side Nutrition, but the whole staff was amazing!! I work ed with Braelen and she was supportive, understanding, and a wealth of knowledge. This experience helped me change my life.

Read MoreI'm in a bigger body and suffer from BED and ARFID. I also have ADHD which impacts my eating disorders greatly. Braelen has been great to work with. I have never been shamed for my body size or told I need to go on a strict diet. Instead I'm supported for who I am and am learning to embrace all parts of me.

Not only is Kymber informative and caring, she does so in a way that celebrates personalized care and specificity of peoples needs and wants. Her values are extremely strong and compassionate and it shows in her work. I have also seen the dramatic difference she has made in my sister’s life in being someone that made her feel heard and seen as a provider, which unfortunately is rare. Thank you to Kymber, you are one of a kind and your work has had a massive impact on the wellbeing of my family. I am forever thankful.

Read MoreI see Kymber at Side by Side Nutrition. I didn't think I had a problem and resisted seeing a dietitian for literal decades despite my therapist's doggedly persistent suggestions that I should do so. It wasn't until COVID lockdown that my health spiraled hard enough that I relented, and on my therapist's recommendation I called Side by Side Nutrition. I realized shortly after that I had no idea what it meant to see a dietitian despite thinking that I did. It was nothing like I had seen on TV shows or the advice I had gotten at my doctor's office. At Side by Side, I get treatment for my eating disorders which involves... every aspect of my life...including food, a therapist, a coach, and a food specialist all in one. The fact that in November I went to a Side by Side support group about the Barbie movie... and it was an amazing group and it covered so much from nostalgia to social commentary to body and food issues is just what I expected from a Side by Side sponsored group. And it was only one of many amazing groups in November. Since beginning treatment with Side by Side, I have become a warrior against diet culture. I send my dietitian my Facebook rants against the very beliefs I, myself held for so much of my life. With my dietitian, I tackled (am tackling) probably the hardest battle with myself that I have ever faced... the one I most want to give into, the one I least wanted to challenge or even believe was a problem. My eating disorder is so entrenched and complex and pernicious... but I have continued treatment with my dietitian willingly and even look forward to seeing her because she has made me able to hate (at times) treatment while always feeling connected, supported, and loved by her. She is authentic and warm and kind. She laughs with me, discusses social issues with me, let's me rant about the state of the world, and somehow continues to make all of that turn into progress against my eating disorder. So... for anyone like past me. It's possible that you don’t know everything you need to know about nutrtion. It's possible you aren't doing fine. It's possible that some of the things you are struggling with that you are SURE aren't about your relationship with food and exercise might actually be entirely about your relationship with food and exercise... And it is absolutely possible for someone to rigorously challenge your most deeply held, entrenched beliefs and somehow also be one of your favorite people to see each week. 6 out of 5 stars. Would absolutely recommend. Life-changing.

Read MoreAt the tail end of 2023, I really wanted a change in my life but was unsure how to implement it. My nutritionist has provided a safe and empowering space to discuss my fears, goals, and lifestyle. With grace and patience, my nutritionist has given me the tools to recover from disordered eating. I recommend them to anyone, ranging from athletes to a general person like me seeking a safe and educational space to discuss food.

Read MoreRecent “graduate” from Side by Side Nutrition. I started working with SBSN to figure out how food worked after having an eating disorder for years. And I’m so happy I got so much more than that! SBSN introduced me to Self-Compassion and met me with an approach that never included shaming me. I looked forward to our sessions every week, even if I hadn’t done any of my work, because I knew she’d be understanding and work with me to figure out what I needed to make it happen. And none of that compassion and presence was lost when we had to switch to telehealth. When I started, I didn’t think healing from an eating disorder was possible. And I never in my wildest dreams imagined that I’d come out of it with an unshakable love for my body (certainly not a plus size body with chronic illness)! I’m so glad circumstances sent me here because I know I wouldn’t have gotten to this place with my previous dietician! I am STRONG, I am CONFIDENT, and I am in LOVE with myself! Thank you so much for helping me on my journey here! It wasn’t easy, but it was so worth it!
