Welcome to Side By Side Nutrition!
We’re so happy you’ve decided to schedule an appointment with one of our dietitians.
When you start your online booking, please read the dietitian’s bio very carefully and make sure that you are booking with the dietitian who meets your needs for your age, the location you reside, insurance, and the condition you are seeking help.
If you are unable to find the right fit dietitian or a convenient time for you, please consider choosing a virtual appointment because this will greatly increase your options and the availability of our team.
Lastly, if you are under 18+, please contact us directly.

FAQ
-
Submitting all of the requested information prior to your appointment gives you a running start toward meeting your goals! Your dietitian will review all of your information before your first session so that you can start working on your nutrition goals right away, rather than spending valuable time doing paperwork.
-
Payments will be processed via credit card 48 hours prior to appointments, reflecting deductibles or copayments for insured clients. Cancellations and rescheduling must be conducted through our secure client portal, not via email or phone.
Click here if you want to learn more about our cancellation policy.
-
The main reason we do this is to encourage our clients to communicate promptly with us about changing or canceling an appointment (see “Do you have a cancellation policy?” above).
If any payment is due for your visit after a claim has been submitted, you will receive an invoice and explanation of the charges a week before we charge your card on file.
-
Being comfortable with your dietitian is essential to meeting your nutrition goals.
Since SBSN has so many dietitians on staff, switching to someone else is never a problem. If you are currently seeing a SBSN dietitian and would prefer to meet with someone else, please contact our office staff by email or phone and they can easily make the change for you.
In addition, we have many different specialties and our clients can easily consult with another specialist on our team while still working with your primary dietitian.

The short answer is that all Registered Dietitians (RD or RDN) are nutritionists but not all nutritionists are Registered Dietitian Nutritionists. Virtually anyone can call themselves a nutritionist, which makes it really tough to differentiate those with extensive nutrition education (i.e. CN or CNS) from those who took a weekend class or read a book.
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD or RDN) is a nationally recognized credential and offers some guarantees. You know the individual has fulfilled specific requirements, including having earned at least a bachelor’s degree in nutrition science, completed a 1200+ hour supervised practice program and passed a national registration examination — in addition to maintaining extensive continuing education requirements for re-licensure. Our dietitian nutritionists are also licensed in states where that is a requirement.
Other practitioners who may claim to be nutritionists such health coaches, holistic nutritionists, nutrition therapy practitioners, personal trainers with “certifications” in nutrition, etc. may have little to no formal training in nutrition and their services are not eligible for insurance reimbursement anywhere in the US because they are not recognized as being nutrition experts.
