Stacy Bower (she/her)
My name is Stacy and I started my company, SK Medical Billing, in 2001. I have a degree in Applied Sciences, as a medical laboratory technician (MLT) and spent many years working on the clinical side of healthcare. Once I had children, including one with chronic health problems, I realized shift work would be difficult to continue. I never expected to love the administration side of healthcare but have found it’s a great fit for me. I’ve had to advocate for my child in many ways inlcuding dealing with insurance denials and it’s rewarding to help others advocate for themselves.
I love what I do and spend the majority of my time working in my business. When I do take some time off I love to snowboard, Purgatory is my home mountain, paddle board, read and travel. I often say “grown children are the best” and I try to spend as much time as I can with mine. I recently discovered I’m a cat person and adopted two kittens from the humane society. Nova and Luna keep me entertained and are a great mental health break after dealing with insurance companies all day.
Dealing with insurance companies when you’re trying to do what’s best for your health can be overwhelming and I hope to be a support in that area.
