Julia Baker, RDN (she/her/hers)

Telehealth

Julia is a registered dietitian helping people heal their relationship with food and their bodies. She believes that clients’ needs are shaped by their life experiences. Julia takes time to learn about each client’s story to understand how their disordered eating began and support each in rebuilding their relationship with food. She specializes in working with athletes with eating disorders as well as clients with anxiety, depression, or PTSD.

During her studies for a master’s degree in public health from UNC - Chapel Hill, Julia learned about providing care with a focus on social justice. She also discovered the need for more curiosity and compassion in healthcare. While working as an intern for UNC Athletics, Julia gained experience in intuitive eating and the Health At Every Size® approach to nutrition. In this role, she learned that the best way to nourish oneself is by listening to one’s own body, rather than following rigid rules around eating and moving.

Julia has worked with eating disorder clients in residential and partial hospitalization settings, helping them challenge their ideas about food, learn new ways to cope with difficult emotions, and feel hopeful for a future in recovery. Julia enjoys working with a wide range of clients, including adolescents and adults, and is passionate about helping athletes of all ages and competitive levels learn how to eat intuitively. She is committed to providing an open, non-judgmental environment where clients feel supported and can achieve long-term recovery.
