Addressing a Critical Issue

SBSN plays a vital role in tackling the widespread problem of limited access to specialized eating disorder care. We offer virtual services and accept client insurance nationwide, making a significant impact on recovery across the United States.

Flexible Work Hours

You pick what schedule works best! Are you not a morning person? No problem! You pick when you would like to start your work day! Do you desire to be able to drop and pick up kids from school? No worries, you can work your schedule around family time and family responsibilities! Most of our RDs like to have a 3-day weekend and take Mondays or Fridays off! Some like to see clients five days a week and have shorter days so they can enjoy morning yoga every day or have a long rejuvenating evening! Enjoy the freedom to create your own schedule, giving you the work-life balance you desire.

Competitive Compensation Package

SBSN offers an attractive compensation plan that includes high session rates, performance-based raises, and generous employee benefits, establishing us as one of the top destinations for registered dietitians (RDs).

Professional Growth Opportunities

We prioritize your development as a clinician and provide a top-tier mentoring and training program. We value consistent learning and growing! In this role, you can build enduring relationships with patients and deliver life-changing results.

Values-Based Work

At SBSN, we believe in values-based work, where our core principles align with your personal values to create a profound sense of purpose in your role:

  • Creating strong relationships: Building strong, meaningful relationships is a basic need for all of us. We value building relationships within our community and helping our clients do the same. It’s also a hallmark of our business to promote strong, lasting bonds within our team and to work collaboratively both in the office and out in the community.

  • Serving the community: Part of our mission is to contribute to promoting wellness within the community through community involvement, speaking engagements, and financial contributions. It is our goal to reach more people and provide psychoeducational services to students, teachers + administration, and businesses through regular outreach in the community.

  • Invest in quality: We’re committed to providing the best atmosphere for our clients and our team. Our commitment is seen in our beautiful workspace for our employees and comforting space for our clients and in offering the extra touches like coffee + tea stations, a collaborative environment for our team, and wrap around services for our clients. We promote continued education for our clinicians through ongoing CEUs and trainings in evidence-based practices so clients can feel safe knowing their nutrition therapist is always growing in their skill.

  • Promoting inclusion: We promote hiring clinicians of varying backgrounds, beliefs, and specialties to better serve the diverse and unique experiences of our clients. It’s also important that our office promotes a foundation of diversity, equity, and inclusivity in its culture and practice.

  • Holistic Employee Care: We prioritize the complete well-being of each individual. At SBSN, we foster authentic connections and provide a nurturing environment where every employee's physical, emotional, and personal needs are taken into account. This approach results in genuine, personalized care for our employees, who, in turn, extend the same level of care to our patients.

Prioritizing Preventing Burnout and Focusing on Self-Care

At SBSN, we place a significant emphasis on your well-being and mental health. We recognize that healthcare professionals, including registered dietitians, often face high levels of stress due to the demanding nature of their work. To address this, we've implemented comprehensive measures to prevent burnout and foster self-care:

  • Flexible Schedules: Your well-being matters to us, and our flexible scheduling allows you to manage your workload in a way that suits your life outside of work, ensuring a harmonious work-life balance.

  • Supportive Community: Our team is more than just colleagues; we are a supportive community. We value open communication and actively engage in peer support, creating a safe space to share experiences, concerns, and strategies for coping with the challenges of the profession.

Patient-Centered Focus

With our exceptional administrative team handling tasks such as insurance billing, patient scheduling, intake paperwork, you can concentrate on what you do best: providing counseling to your patients. Side by Side takes care of the administrative aspects, ensuring you can focus on your patients' well-being.

Since my first day at SBSN, I have felt deeply embraced and supported by this team. I feel very grateful to be part of a collaborative team of empaths who all deeply care about their work, their clients and each of the SBSN team members. I truly appreciate the conversations, vulnerability, and intimate connections that are cultivated between individual team members, and as a collective whole. I appreciate that SBSN acknowledges the many challenges that can arise in this work, and priorities the overall wellbeing and mental health of every clinician. Clinicians are provided with and abundance of resources (1:1 supervision, schedule flexibility/autonomy, team meetings, continued education, guest speakers, other team support, etc) to help support them in this work. This support and team has helped me evolve into the human and provider that I want to become. I am forever grateful! “

I always say working for Side by Side was like falling into my dream job. Because it truly was beyond my wildest dreams to be working with a team where creativity and initiative is encouraged, possibilities are always considered, and putting ourselves first as human clinicians is expected. SBSN walks the walk as an employer and respects collaborative leadership, boundaries, and self-care. Plus, getting to set my ideal schedule is pretty amazing, too. I'm grateful to work somewhere where I can finally quit pretending to be a morning person, or pretending to be anything else, for that matter. Side by Side Nutrition is a workplace that accepts us for who we are and views our individuality as our greatest team asset."

SBSN RD COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Background_Pattern_1.jpg

We want to attract and retain the best Registered Dietitians in the country. To do so, we compensate generously: our pay range is the ~70-90th percentile in the country. This means that, depending on your session rate, at 23-25 sessions per week (our benchmark for full-time), you will be able to earn ~$70-90K per year.

Use this calculator to calculate your total compensation based on your session rate.

SBSN Base Compensation

  • Followups: 50 min client hour, 15 min coordination of care/note taking built in for every client (10 mins of the rest of the 60 min session +5 min built it with 30 min admin time paid for five clients seen)= (15+6=21 mins- different rates)  *see  admin hours

  • Nonbillable Time: paid at client hour rate. (nonbillable time is time spent outside session in excess of 15 mins per week that we bill the client for)

  • Your session rate will range from $40-$60 per session, depending on your experience, performance, and tenure with SBSN. • Benefits: Employees may be eligible for benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and more, which are not typically provided to contractors.

  • Training and Development: Employers often invest in the training and development of their employees, offering opportunities to learn new skills and advance in their careers.

  • Team and Company Culture: Employees are usually more integrated into the company's culture and often have a closer relationship with their colleagues.

  • Tax Benefits:

    • Tax Withholding: Taxes, such as income tax, Social Security, and Medicare, are automatically withheld from an employee's paycheck. This can be advantageous as it spreads the tax liability throughout the year, potentially reducing the risk of underpayment penalties.

    • Employer Contributions: Employers typically make contributions to Social Security and Medicare on behalf of their employees, covering half of the total contributions for these programs.

    • Employee Benefits: Employees may be eligible for various tax-advantaged benefits, such as contributions to retirement plans (e.g., 401(k)), health savings accounts (HSAs), and flexible spending accounts (FSAs), which can reduce taxable income.

  • Maximum flexibility: set your own schedule!

  • No waiting for clients or insurance to pay: you are paid for the number of clients seen regardless of insurance reimbursement.

  • No-show payment: you are paid half your session rate for patients who "no show" or “late cancel”.

  • Marketing, scheduling, and billing support: Side By Side handles the insurance billing and provides the patients to you — all you have to do is counsel.
